They learn skills such as marching single file, basic steps in a circle, and staying in their own spot. All this is taught to music that inspires and holds small ones interest and imagination. Children will show newly acquired skills to parents and loved ones at final class.

~

Ballet or Pre-Ballet (ages 6 and up)

Basic ballet steps and movement taught simply to fun and recognizable music. Children learn placement, develop their coordination and gain strength through the discipline of ballet. A short and fun dance will be performed for parents at the end of each semester.

~

Baton Twirling

Baton twirling is making a comeback. By spinning and flipping that little silver stick, a child will develop an incredible sense of hand/eye coordination that will help them with other sports and forms of movement thru-out life. Baton twirling directly challenges motor skills and improves range of motion for the smallest to the largest joints of the body.

~

Theater for Teens

A class for acting out. Use your imagination to step outside yourself. Everyone, to some extent, possesses some sort of acting talent. We act and interact all day long. Who hasn’t told a white lie or invented an excuse when we wanted to avoid a situation or person. That’s acting. Use those innate talents to become other characters in scenes from plays, musicals, and movies. We will study and perform scenes from Broadway shows such as A Chorus Line, Westside Story, Rent and many more. Movies range from The Blues Brothers, Erin Brockovich and Chicago to as recent as Million Dollar Baby. Come to this class and learn the tools to use the talents we all have.

~

That's Show Biz (ages 7-12)

An exciting new course where children will learn the fundamentals of professional musical theater. They will also learn how to understand and take basic direction in a positive light. Whether performing alone or in a group, extroverts and introverts alike will learn to project and get their point to the back row of the balcony. Class will consist of rehearsals of scenes and musical numbers from Broadway Musicals as varied as Annie to Oklahoma. Children will learn from professional Broadway dancer, choreographer and teacher Gail Pearson who wants children to know the joy of live theater.

~

On The Radio (also available for Teens)

Remember sitting around the radio in the parlor listening to all your favorite shows, fantasizing that you were those characters? Now it can be more than a fantasy. You can play the parts your idols played. This class includes recreating some of the best of radio. You will build characters, use sound effects and microphones and finish the course with a final performance bringing it all together for you and your friends to enjoy. Take a trip down memory lane to the good old days of innocence and imagination.

~

Jazz! Jazz! Jazz!

Yes, you read it right. It's a downright hip hoppin, swingin, jazz class taught by a professional New York Dancer. You will learn the basics for the dances you see on videos and on stage. They will learn about musical phrasing, counting, timing and making steps fit the feel of the music. The objective of this class is to create a competitive and entertaining group where each child will learn how to win or lose. This class combines ballet, cardiovascular work, weights and conditioning into one class. It takes a dancer to teach dance and we've got the best. Come try it and stand lean, strong and tall with the grace of a dancer.

~

Eclectic Fitness

A combination of dance, calisthenics, aerobics, stretch, weights and then some, this class will be just what you are looking for. It fits all your needs. Your body will be worked evenly and thoroughly resulting in a fitter, stronger, and healthier you. It's like having your own personal trainer with a much smaller dent in your wallet.

~

Stretch Class

Relieve tension after those long days at work or with the kids. Relax it all out as you clear your mind, stretch your muscles and open your joints. Using a combination of exercises from dance, yoga, and Pilate’s you can rid yourself of the stiffness that comes from holding in and not breathing. With over twenty-five years of experience in virtually every type of exercise, Gail Pearson has put together what she feels is the best of all worlds. This class is not aerobics or calisthenics. It is purely to let the stress go so that you feel you can face the world again.
PSEOhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12311781884406698778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35916385.post-1161122144705207832006-10-17T14:41:00.000-07:002006-10-23T10:19:40.863-07:00Introducing Gail PearsonGail Pearson has been a professional dancer, choreographer and dance teacher who has worked in New York City, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, as well as spending a number of years as a competitive bodybuilder (1993 Palm Springs Masters Bodybuilding Champion and 1996 NPC National Masters Middleweight Champion) and Personal Trainer.
